Joe Andoe is an influential New York painter whose works are included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Ken Johnson of ‘The New York Times’ has compared Andoe’s work favorably to that of Munch and Gauguin, writing that Andoe’s paintings evoke “the dream of a life lived with emotional and instinctual abandon.”
